The government offers two main types of solar rebates in Australia:

March 8, 2024by Luke0

1. Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs): These rebates are provided for the installation of small-scale Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, Solar water heaters, and heat pumps. The number of STCs that can be claimed depends on the size of the system and its location, with more STCs available for systems in areas with higher levels of Solar radiation.

2. Feed-in Tariffs: Some state and territory governments offer feed-in tariffs for excess electricity generated by Solar PV systems that is fed back into the grid. This means that homeowners with Solar panels can receive a payment for the electricity they generate and export to the grid. The rate of the feed-in tariff varies depending on the state or territory and the electricity retailer.
