The Australian government offers several types of Solar rebates to promote the adoption of renewable energy. The two main rebates available are the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) and the Solar Homes and Communities Plan.

1. Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES): This scheme provides financial incentives in the form of Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) for eligible Solar power system installations. The number of STCs received depends on factors such as the size of the system and location. These certificates can then be sold or traded to registered agents, reducing the upfront cost of the system.

2. Solar Homes and Communities Plan: This initiative provides rebates for the installation of Solar panels and batteries in selected regions. Under this plan, eligible households can receive rebates of up to a certain amount for installing Solar power systems.

In addition to these government rebates, some states and territories offer their own incentives to further reduce the cost of Solar installations. For example, Victoria has the Solar Homes Program, which provides rebates for Solar panel installations and interest-free loans for Solar battery systems.

These Solar rebates help make Solar power systems more affordable and attractive to homeowners and businesses, leading to increased adoption of renewable energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
