Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs): This federal government scheme provides financial incentives for installing small-scale renewable energy systems, including solar panels. The number of STCs you receive depends on the size of your solar system and the location of your property. These certificates can be traded and sold to help offset the cost of your solar installation.

To be eligible for STCs, your Solar system must be installed by a Clean Energy Council accredited installer and comply with relevant standards and regulations. The amount of STCs you can claim is determined by the Clean Energy Regulator based on the amount of renewable energy your system is expected to generate over its lifetime.

Once your Solar system is installed, your installer will provide you with the necessary paperwork to claim your STCs. You can then either assign these certificates to your installer in exchange for a discount on your installation costs, or you can sell them on the open market through the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES).

STCs can provide a significant financial incentive for installing Solar panels, making renewable energy more accessible and affordable for homeowners. It’s important to work with a reputable installer and ensure that your system meets all the necessary requirements to receive STCs.
