Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES): This scheme provides financial incentives in the form of Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) for installing solar panels and other eligible renewable energy systems. These STCs can be sold to electricity retailers to offset the upfront cost of installing solar.

The SRES aims to encourage households and businesses to invest in renewable energy systems by providing a financial incentive to offset the initial cost. This helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

To be eligible for STCs under the SRES, the renewable energy system must meet certain criteria and be installed by a Clean Energy Council accredited installer. The number of STCs that can be claimed depends on the location, size, and efficiency of the system, as well as the amount of renewable energy generated.

By participating in the SRES, homeowners and businesses can not only reduce their electricity bills and carbon footprint but also contribute to the growth of the renewable energy industry in Australia. The scheme has been successful in driving the uptake of Solar panels and other renewable energy systems, helping to create a cleaner and more sustainable energy future for all Australians.
